Hey guys! Long time no speak.

So I've decided I'm pretty dissatisfied by the number of deviations I have to show for my 9 years on dA. Therefore I'm going to make a considerably effort to draw more regularly as it's something I've always loved but have sadly neglected since the internet came into my life. I have no goals to become an amazing artist; I just want to satisfy that itch and have a little more to show as a result.

The trouble I have is I never invest in any decent equipment so today I've managed to buy a lovely A4 sketch pad with heavyweight pages so my lining pen doesn't seep through onto the next page (a consistent problem with my old pad).

In case you don't know what other stuff I do creatively in my spare time then please check out my SEGA website (www.segadriven.com) and heavy music blog (ukscumscene.wordpress.com). There's lots of reviews and features that I've written housed on both websites. I'm also working on my own music but that's for another time ;)

Take care and hopefully I'll have something new to show you all soon.

So hey, I'm Lewis. I thought it was probably best I said a little something about myself.

I'm 23 years old and work full-time as a finance analyst for Coca-Cola. My big interests are hard rock and heavy metal music, video games of the SEGA variety, going out and having a drink with my friends, watching zombie movies and making music with my band Pigeons of Death.

Pigeons of Death have a website you can find here: pigeonsofdeath.wordpress.com There's an EP available for free download if you wanna hear what we're all about. We make comedy acoustic punk. Yeah. Pretty weird. It's been immense fun being in this band as the other 2 members are essentially my best friends. Doing something musically is massively fulfilling for me. We're obviously not the greatest band in the world, but it still acts as a great creative output.

I've been a huge music fan since I was a kid. I grew up amongst the rise of nu-metal in the early 2000s, but I was introduced to UK underground rock first by a good friend of mine. My favourite band is HIM but I also have a lot of love for Skindred, Two Gallants, Send More Paramedics, Rammstein, The Mad Capsule Markets, Maximum the Hormone, System of a Down, Reuben, Hospital of Death, Hold Your Horse Is, Billy Talent, Alkaline Trio and many, many more.

Back to the topic of SEGA. I'm a big video game fan. I was given a Mega Drive at the age of 4 and have been pretty much addicted to video games since. I grew up with SEGA games and I have a lot of love for them. This is why I run the website SEGADriven (link here www.segadriven.com) where I spread a little SEGA love. There's reviews, articles, features, news and all manner of SEGA stuff on there. It's slowly been building some steam and we're now hosted at The Sonic Stadium (www.sonicstadium.org), the most popular Sonic site on the Internet.

My SEGA site has introduced me to some incredible people who I now call friends. Every year I staff the Summer of Sonic event and enjoy one of the greatest fan conventions of all time. My role is amazing (if a little hot) and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. No, I'm not telling you what it is; that's a secret!

Drawing was a big thing for me when I was a kid. I used to draw all the time. Most of it was making up pretend weaponry and vehicles and a lot of it was Sonic fan art. I love Sonic man. Unfortunately, as I grew up my interest in drawing has gradually faded. I've always thought this was a bit of a shame because it seems like there may have been some 'talent' that's gone to waste. This is why I've started to submit whatever brain farts make it to paper on this deviantART account. If I ever get any better at this then 'yay'. If not, no biggy. It's simply something I enjoy that I want to continue.

I'm also quite heavily into animation. I grew up with shows like The Trap Door, Extreme Ghostbusters, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Postman Pat and have continued to enjoy a variety of different shows and films. Nowadays, I watch a lot of Japanese anime. My favourite film is Akira and my favourite series is Neon Genesis Evangelion.

So yeah, that's me. Enjoy my strange doodles! Any feedback is more than welcome!

My good friend :iconfeniiku: is between jobs at the moment and will be lacking a bit of dosh. Therefore she is taking commissions to keep herself going.

If you want something done then her commission details can be found here: CLICK HERE

She isn't picky but she doesn't do hentai (that whole sentence sounded wrong). Help a fellow deviant!

Hello.

I just uploaded a recent self portrait I did in 15 minutes one night last week. I thought it came out pretty well at first, but the more I look at it the more I realise I need to practice a lot more.

This is one of my goals for 2011; to draw more. As a kid it was all I used to do and I think it's a shame that I've lost that urge now I'm a little older. I'm not big on fan art so I'm trying to practice on still life before I decide to branch out and get a little more creative. Some of the weird stuff in my gallery is a little embaressing but I hope to be able to return to more abstract stuff when I'm a little more confident.

But yeah, that's all.

Is this place still popular?

Bye!
